Winter approaches....... The colony in my nuc box (those that had swarmed earlier in the year - have been put in my garage for the winter. They are only a small colony and are unlikely to survive a cold winter - which is forecast. I had to move them to a local farm some miles away for four weeks before putting them in the garage otherwise they would have just flown out of the garge back to their old spot at the bottom of the garden - and perished. Moving them in this way for four weeks had meant they have forgotten where there old home was.
